Why has my transfer not been processed yet?

Sending money can lead to delays, which can be frustrating. These delays may occur when the automatic transfer process does not meet all required conditions.

We are happy to explain the reasons for unexpected delays with your outgoing transfer and provide tips on how to deal with this.

Sometimes, when you send money, your transfer may receive the status ‘Pending’. This means your transfer has been initiated and is scheduled to take place within a few days. In the ‘Pending’ status, the money has not yet been debited from your account, but your Available balance has already been affected.

If your transaction remains in the ‘In progress’ status longer than expected, this may be because it is still being reviewed manually. During this time, the team may ask you for more information.

After we have completed the internal review, we will keep you informed of the status of your transfer. This is one of the two outcomes:

  • Booked: the transfer has been debited from your account and your "Booked" balance is adjusted in your account balance.

  • Rejected: the transfer has been declined and no money has been debited from your account.

Instant SEPA transfers are always processed immediately (24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year).

Non-instant SEPA transactions are subject to certain restrictions on specific days known as 'TARGET closing days'. The SEPA network is not available on TARGET closing days.

What is the processing time for international transfers?

The processing time for international transfers depends on the sending/receiving bank. In general, banks process international transfers within 2 to 10 working days before the transaction is visible on the payment network. The exact duration can vary greatly by bank and depends on factors such as the country of origin, currency, and risks.

Even after the sending bank has approved the transaction, it may take some time before it appears in your account. This can be affected by factors such as currency, the country of origin, and possible compliance checks.

At GoDutch, we work with Wise, experts in international transfers. We generally allow 1 working day processing time at GoDutch. If the transaction is investigated in the context of laws and regulations, the processing time may be longer and we may request additional documents.
