The Story of Pyramide

A hamlet in Oostburg, but until 1970 part of IJzendijke. Although it housed - until 1944 - a pyramid-shaped monument honouring Emperor Napoleon, the name of the hamlet originated elsewhere: with the pyramid-shaped roof of the local ‘White House,’ a pavillion/office (torn down in 1966) of the regional polder drainage authority.
