THE HAGUE - A new points system will give talented migrant workers and students better opportunities to live and work in the Netherlands, if they are needed. Based on a new set of criteria, such people will be allowed a residency period of two years, which can be extended. After five years, they may become permanent residents. The new system is set up for innovative entrepreneurs, independent researchers and other creative top talents from abroad. The new system replaces existing rules and could make entry into the Netherlands easier for much needed migrants.
