Open Doors founder keeps visiting Muslim countries

PUTTEN – Churches in Western countries, including the Netherlands, can learn from persecuted Christians, so says Open Doors founder Anne van der Bijl. Persecuted Christians can teach fellow believers elsewhere what it means to have compassion, even for those people who are persecuting them. Western missionaries and evangelists tend to work in areas where there is a measure of tolerance while the persecuted live in a hostile environment. Van der Bijl told a gathering of ministers in the central Dutch town that he visits Muslim countries where he keeps in contact with leaders. An Iraqi visitor told his audience about the neglect by those in the West who ignore the plight of Christians in his country where life as a Christian has turned for the worse in recent years.
