INZELL, Germany – Dutch speed skaters have landed thirteen medals between them at the World Single Distance Speed Skating Championships in the German town of Inzell. Bob de Jong took gold in the men's ten kilometre race, overpowering South Korea's Lee Seung-hoon, who had so far been undefeated at this distance. He also won gold in the men's five kilometre race. Bob de Vries took silver. After winning gold in the 1,500 metre and three kilometre races, Ireen Wüst came second in the women's 1,000 metres. She clinched the women's world allround title in Calgary a month earlier. At 24, Wüst is now seen as the most successful Dutch speed skater ever on World Cup distances races.
