AMSTERDAM – While Oranje, the Dutch national soccer team may have missed out on the World Cup, other Dutch individuals and teams regularly come home with a world title or championship. One such sports woman is Linsy Heister, who claimed a world title in Roberval, Quebec at the 25 kilometre distance swimming in open water after besting runners up from Spain and France. She went from being sixth in 2009 to title winner this year. In Brest, Belarus, rowers Vincent and Tycho Muda, identical twins, claimed gold in the Lightweight Men’s Pair, beating Germany and France. On the North Sea, in effect at home, sailors Lisa Westerhof and Lobke Berkhout prolonged their world title in the Olympic 470-class with Berkhout entering the records book with a fifth World Championship win. For the second year, Oranje came in first in the four-in-hand-driving Nations Cup race at the official four-in-hand-driving competition of Aachen, Germany.
