BERGHAREN – Farmers ought to be able to read the body language of their animals. They then will be able to treat their livestock when suffering illnesses and better care for their wellbeing, said Dutch minister of agriculture Gerda Verburg, herself a farmer’s daughter, at the opening of Vetvice’s trainings centre Koesignalen (Cow Signals). The outgoing minister thinks that the courses could benefit even the most experienced farmer. In addition to water and feed as well as the freedom of the pastures, Koesignalen strives for light, quiet, air and space in the barns.
