Twente city to commemorate deadly explosion

ENSCHEDE – The local citizenry, but especially the residents of the Rombeek district are already in the process of preparing for the commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the fireworks disaster of Saturday, May 13, 2000 when an explosion wiped out much of Rombeek. The disaster took the lives of 23 people and injured about 1,000 residents and caused lifelong scars for many. Numerous commemorative events are being organized.
