VENLO – The southern Dutch province of Limburg is commencing a study to document the cultural-historical characteristics of three roads. The goal is to gain a better insight in the socio-economic role of these routes and their influence on the identity of the province. The roadways three are the Oude Baan (Old Way), Napoleonsbaan (Napoleon’s Way) and the Romeinse weg (Roman Road). All three road names are extremely old with the latter of the three possibly dating from the second century.
