Impatient car drivers often cause of tractor-trailer accidents

AMSTERDAM – A group of traffic experts has concluded that many accidents involving tractor-trailers are not caused by inattentive truckers but by automobile drivers who display impatient and overly aggressive behavior behind the wheel. The Inspection bureau of the Transportation Ministry shares this conclusion. The traffic enforcement bureau of the ministry still blames the truckers, however. The experts attributed many accidents with trucks to drivers who suddenly cut in front of trucks, switch lanes or cause problems by not giving them courtesy when signaling for a lane change. The experts have not yet collected enough statistical data to make final definitive judgments as to who is really at blame in most accidents involving commercial trucks. Among the traffic experts are police officials, insurers, and traffic safety researchers.
