Dutch postal service tackles markets in Germany

THE HAGUE – Technological advances such as e-mail have cut into postal delivery volumes everywhere. Various postal services have branched out across national borders with international delivery services. TNT Post, once known as the PTT, increasingly is delivering to addresses far from is home base in the Netherlands. A recent acquisition in Munich opens TNT Post’s access to 1.6 million households in Germany. The Dutch postal service concluded a cooperative venture with two German companies. TNT is active in a number of other, emerging foreign markets as well.
