Fast skating Dutch claim WK titles for both divisions

HEERENVEEN – Dutch skaters Sven Kramer and Ireen Wüst re-established Dutch supremacy at the recent world championships where they respectively skated away with first place in the men’s and women’s divisions. Kramer placed first on the 5K and 10K distances, securing first place for the men. Dutch skaters Verheijen placed third, Wennemars fifth and Wouter Olde Heuvel seventh. Wust was followed by Pauline van Deutekom, sixth, and Marja Vis, tenth, for the women. Thirty-six years ago Dutch skaters Ard Schenk and Atje Keuken-Deelstra also took both titles in Heerenveen.
