The Story of Zoutelande

The seaside resort was independent until 1996. The village itself had had some 550 inhabitants 150 years ago and then was a neighbour to such hamets as Werendijke, Sir Boudewijnskerke, St. Janskerke. Its 15th century church was built to complement a tower erected some 50 years earlier. A brick windmill dates from 1722.
